Tawan Law
Benefits of Tawan Law

Fewer firms focus this narrowly on inheritance — and that makes a difference.

This page sets out what distinguishes Tawan Law from the alternatives and why our approach produces better outcomes for clients navigating estate matters.

Six things that set Tawan Law apart

Inheritance-only focus

We do not take commercial contracts, employment disputes, or property conveyancing. Our full attention stays on inheritance and estate matters — which means deeper familiarity with the relevant law and procedures.

Plain language at every stage

Legal jargon is useful among lawyers. With clients, we use clear language and follow up with written summaries so that nothing important is lost between meetings.

Published fixed fees

Our fees for standard matters are published openly in Thai Baht. Clients know the cost before any commitment — there are no surprise charges at the end of a matter.

Unhurried consultations

We do not schedule multiple back-to-back appointments. Each consultation is given its own space. You will not feel hurried, and we will not move faster than you are comfortable with.

Cross-border estate experience

A significant part of our work involves estates with assets or heirs in multiple countries. We understand where Thai law applies, and where collaboration with advisers in other jurisdictions is the right step.

Sensitivity to personal circumstances

Inheritance matters arise in grief. We are mindful of this at every interaction — in how we schedule meetings, how we communicate, and how we pace the work.

Each advantage, explained

Deep knowledge of Thai succession law

Practitioners who focus on inheritance law encounter the same types of problems repeatedly. That repetition builds pattern recognition — the ability to spot issues early and navigate around them efficiently. Our team has worked on straightforward family estates, contested will disputes, administratorship appointments through the courts, and cross-border succession situations.

  • Full familiarity with Thai Civil and Commercial Code Books V and VI
  • Regular interaction with the Probate Court and Land Department
  • Experience with both contested and uncontested succession matters

"We handle only what we know deeply. That boundary protects our clients."

"Every client receives a written record of what was discussed and what comes next."

Client service that reduces anxiety

Much of the distress that accompanies legal matters comes from not knowing what is happening. We address this directly. After each consultation, clients receive a plain-language written summary. Updates are provided proactively — not only when asked. We return calls and messages within one working day.

  • Written summary after every meeting
  • Proactive progress updates without prompting
  • Response to enquiries within one working day

Fees you know about before you begin

Our three service tiers have fixed fees published in Thai Baht. Starting at ฿4,500 for an Inheritance Reflection Consultation through to ฿16,600 for a Full Inheritance Matter Case, clients can review what is included at each level before making any decision. For complex contested matters, we will clearly set out the anticipated scope before any commitment.

  • Three fixed-fee service tiers, all published
  • No hidden administrative charges
  • Scope agreed in writing for complex matters

"Clients should never have to ask what something costs. We tell them first."

Tawan Law vs typical general practice firms

Many legal firms accept inheritance matters alongside a broad workload. Here is how that typically differs from our approach.

Area Tawan Law Typical General Practice
Inheritance law focus Exclusively inheritance One area among many
Written consultation summary Included with every session Not typically standard
Published fixed fees Three tiers, all public Hourly billing common
Cross-border estate experience Regular part of practice Varies widely
Bilingual (English / Thai) All team members Not always available
Unhurried consultation pace Built into the approach High client volume common

Things you will not find in most firms

Closing report on all handled cases

At the end of a Full Inheritance Matter Case, clients receive a written closing report summarising what was done, what was resolved, and what records should be kept. This is not standard practice — we include it because we believe the end of a matter deserves as much care as the beginning.

No obligation attached to the initial consultation

The Inheritance Reflection Consultation carries no obligation to proceed. Some clients return weeks later; others find clarity and do not need further help. Both outcomes are fine. The consultation stands on its own.

Appointments that respect your availability

Saturday morning appointments are available for clients who cannot meet during weekday office hours. We try to be accessible without compromising the quality of the meeting.

Full service in English

Documents, correspondence, and consultations are available entirely in English for clients who prefer it. We do not offer a reduced service in English — everything available in Thai is available in English too.
